A large and heavy 9ct gold cameo brooch depicting a figure of a lady facing right carved into shell.
The gold surrounding the cameo is thick and heavy. A pleasant change to some of the most lightweight cameo pieces.  The edge of the gold has a ribbed effect and is fully hallmarked to the side. 
The lady features an oversized collar (presumably her fanciest clothes), her hair is tied back and she has a slight smile on her face. She is of course wearing drop earrings which can be seen faintly contoured into the shell.
